I am so very sorry to announce that Kado Gifts will be closing, permanently.

Kado has been on your high street for 26 years - the last 7 of which I have had the absolute pleasure of owning. I took the lease over from the previous owner with 7 years left, and those 7 years come to an end this summer. After much thought, many conversations and lots of number crunching, the reality of the current climate has become impossible to ignore and closing the shop was the only viable option. Foot fall continues to decline month on month in the high street, but the overheads keep increasing. From rent and business rates, to electricity and water as well as national insurance and minimum wage - the numbers simply no longer add up for a small, independent business like mine.

I am so proud of what has been achieved and I thank all the staff that have worked alongside me for that. I am sorry to the lovely community of Risborough - your support over the years has meant the world to me and I know you will all miss Kado.

As I begin the process of closing down, I want to make sure our remaining stock finds a good home. So starting tomorrow, at 10am, there will be 20% off anything and everything in store. I would love to see you, so please pop in and grab yourself a bargain! Any existing gift vouchers will of course be honoured, but the loyalty scheme has now been stopped. As of now, a final closing date has not been decided, however, as soon as I know I will let you know!
